If given enough time, a slow leak can result in very serious structural damage that will make the restoration process longer and more expensive. ![]() Hidden water leaks behind walls can be especially dangerous because the water will get absorbed into flooring, drywall, and ceilings, as well as wooden support beams and sheetrock. The damage caused by excess water or moisture will continue to spread and get worse until the source of the water is repaired and the affected materials are dried and restored. Regardless of the source, it is crucial to react to water damage immediately. If mold in hidden areas is not found and addressed, it can cause extensive damage as well as health issues like allergies and infection in those who are exposed. Their looks are divisive, but there’s no denying that they’re some of the most eye-catching cases you can build a rig in. ![]() In the other corner, cases like Cougar’s Conquest and InWin’s D Frame Mini are showcases on their own, with or without high-end internals. Their rectangular shapes, tempered glass, and versatile mounting options offer brilliant canvases to showcase your high-end parts and custom water-cooling loops. In one corner, you have the slightly more conventional offerings from Cooler Master and Thermaltake. There are really two types of open air cases. If you like the idea of an open air Mini ITX case but can’t get a hold of the D Frame Mini, Thermaltake’s Core P1 is your best bet. It’s worth noting that InWin has discontinued the D Frame Mini once before, so we’d suggest you scoop one up quickly if you’re interested in it. However, we think it’s definitely one of the best-looking cases on our list. In that sense, it’s not quite as exciting as some of our other picks. It doesn’t have any fancy layout options or modular features. There isn’t much to the D Frame Mini beyond that aluminum frame. You can have it sitting in the “normal” direction like in the photo below, but it’ll work equally fine horizontally or even vertically. The frame is hand-welded and has rubber grommets all around to serve as feet and spacers for the tempered glass side panels.Ī positive side effect of the open frame layout is that the D Frame Mini works in multiple orientations. In fact, that’s why it’s called the “D”-Frame. The InWin D Frame Mini is an open frame PC case heavily influenced by motorbike frames, particularly Ducati bikes. But trust InWin, maker of minute cases like the B1 and A1, to have a mini ITX version of their much-loved D Frame chassis. ![]() If there’s a market that’s not served very well by open air cases, it’s the mini ITX crowd. No matter your living situation, you’ll probably be able to find a great way to fit the P5 into it. One of the big appeals of Thermaltake’s Core P5 is its support for vertical, horizontal, and wall-mounted orientations. The one we’ve chosen to feature here is the Core P5, which is the company’s mid-range ATX case. The company makes a whole range of Core cases, from the mini ITX Core P1 to the massive Core P90. With their tempered glass panels and completely open sides, these cases arguably defined the whole notion of a showcase, open air computer. It wouldn’t be an open air PC case list without one of Thermaltake’s Core-series cases. Beyond its comprehensive motherboard support, the MasterFrame 700 has space for three radiators (two 360 mm and one 420 mm) and even dual ATX PSUs.ġ2.6 inches (without reservoir), 11 inches (with reservoir) The MasterFrame 700’s unique design consists of a central motherboard tray flanked by two “wings” attached to the tray with high-quality hinges, all behind an oversized tempered glass panel.Ĭooler Master claims the MasterFrame 700 has an “unmatched level of hardware compatibility,” and the specs back this up. The MasterFrame 700 made its debut at Cooler Master’s showcase event earlier this year. SSI EEB, SSI CEB, XL-ATX, E-ATX, ATX, Micro ATX, Mini ITX Now that we’ve got that out of the way, let’s continue on to our picks. If you do want to air-cool your PC, we recommend a regular cleaning and dusting routine to keep your components looking and performing their best. This won’t be a massive problem for custom water-cooled builds, but it will definitely be something you have to consider if you want to use air cooling. Our Favorite Open Air PC Casesīefore we head into our picks, remember that building in an open air case will make dust an even bigger problem for your PC. If you’re looking to take your build to the next level, read on to see if there’s an open PC case for you. The best open air cases make great use of tempered glass and exposed frames to provide an excellent platform for top-notch showcase rigs. But in terms of visual flair, there’s nothing quite as eye-catching as an open air PC case. From portable cases with handles to space-saving horizontal layouts, there’s probably a case out there for you no matter your desire. Your PC can be so much more than a plain old tower. ![]() If anyone has ANY info would be greatly appreciated, a part of me might still consider trying or buying another unit but another part of me wants to throw it in the bin or sell it on ebay for cheap since -as is- it's a sampler that doesn't save samples. It's the most senseless, bogus and utterly infuriating bug I've come across on any machine. The samples I lost before a gig, I'm convinced had been tested and saved fine and then on the day, they had disappeared. There doesn't appear to be that many reports of similar issues online but there are some (including with latest firmware.) 2 of 3 samples that 'worked' (as in exported / saved) were freshly formatted SD cards, 1 saved fine on top of that, the others just didn't save. I can't seem to get it to freeze again but it mostly just doesn't 'export all' (no warning, no error, no freezing, just doesn't do what it's meant to do and then the most recent samples are gone after I power off and on.) It saved 3 samples just fine but that's out of 8 or 9 tested. After a bit of testing there appears to be no rhyme or reason to it, it's not particularly related to the start time + time slice. The next time you open iMASCHINE 2 you will be prompted to import your project file. Click on the exported file from your Desktop and drag it into the iMaschine 2 Documents area. iMaschine is an intuitive groove creation app for iPhone and iPod touch. Go back to iTunes and while still under File Sharing this time select iMaschine 2. Edit: I also have the Pocket Operator range. I doubt it's related but mine is one of the black ones. Click on this file and drag it to your desktop. My guess is NI is leaving the iOS space until its a guaranteed money maker. Are there a bunch of faulty units out there or is this all of them? Is it a firmware issue and is there a relevant update? Have the people who haven't experienced this problem simply not done that specific combo of actions? (change start time > time slice > export all). ![]() The period of each time slice can be very significant and crucial to balance CPUs performance and responsiveness. The scheduler runs each process every single time-slice. It is timeframe for which process is allotted to run in preemptive multitasking CPU. If anyone has more confirmations, clarity, information on this insane bug and issue, please let us know so I / we can at least prepare or work around accordingly. A time slice is short time frame that gets assigned to process for CPU execution. I'm still on the fence regarding using it given this ridiculous unreliability. Tried to go for a 1010music blackbox instead but I didn't like the workflow and it just doesn't have the endless mangling and effects of the ES2 so I've come back to the forums to find some clarity and solidarity. A truly awful bug, and I lost a bunch of samples before a gig. But it does it without warning, no real logic and it corrupts the entire SD card for good measure. It seems to be (as someone posted below) in relation to a specific set of manipulations, (change the start time of a sample and then time slice). ![]() Late comment but I have exactly the same problem and was wondering the same thing (is it just mine / should I buy another one?) ![]() That said, Android File Transfer is also still the best file transfer software that you can pick up for Mac. Once you download that - for free - you should be able to transfer files as freely as you’d like. You have to download what is essentially the “compatibility” app Google has made for macOS, Android File Transfer. It’s worth noting that, even though Android has improved substantially over the years - and so has macOS - you still cannot just download files by plugging in your USB or USB-C cable. So without waiting any further, let’s get right to it. Given that there are quite a lot of these apps now, we decided to compile a list of the five best Android file transfer software for Mac in 2023. This is where other offerings come into the mix. Despite its feature set, Android Device Manager does have some limitations. However, this is not suitable for every purpose. Google has had the Android File Transfer app for Mac that helps you easily transfer files (or even drag and drop) onto your Android phone or tablet. Given that Apple doesn’t offer a software by default to do this, users have long had to rely on third-party solutions for safe and secure file transfer between a Mac and an Android device. Keeping this in mind, it’s important to have best android file transfer app or software that can help you transfer files between your Android smartphone and Mac. It backs up SMS and calls, but forget those backups being of any use. What it does is very clumsily transfer files from your iTunes library to your phone, but should you decide that you don't want a playlist on your phone anymore, you've got to take it out manually. It doesn't 'sync' Android phones with iTunes, actually. SyncMate doesn't really do what it is advertised to do. When all their garbage was off my computer, it went back to normal operation.ĭon't waste your time or money with SyncMate or Eltima Software. IN ALL CASES THE SOFTWARE FAILED to sync the music player and computer. When I managed to get that calmed down (though the monitor image was crazily askew), I tried to sync the computer with the music player in all three ways on offer (USB, WiFi, and Bluetooth). The new software immediately upon launch began to play havoc with my machine, turning the monitor on and off in a rapid fashion without pause. This Expert package installed pieces of itself all over my operating system, without including an uninstall routine. ![]() So I paid, via PayPal, for the Expert edition of the software and installed it. I installed the free version of the software on my Mac, and it only did a limited number of things, none of which were what I wanted it to do. In this case, I was trying to sync and transfer music files between a Mac and an Android-based music player. NO REFUNDS.The software was an utter failure at its supposed purpose, and it mangled my computer to such an extent I had to boot it up from an emergency disk and spend hours picking out the bits of garbage they installed and deleting them. ![]() Gardner initially referred to these as "May eve, August eve, November eve (Hallowe'en), and February eve". Though this coordination eventually had the benefit of more closely aligning celebrations between the two neopagan groups, Gardner's first published writings leave out the solstices and equinoxes, focusing only on the Celtic festivals Beltane, Lughnasa, Samhain, and Imbolc. Popular legend holds that Gardner and Nichols developed the calendar during a naturist retreat, where Gardner advocated celebrating the solstices and equinoxes while Nichols preferred celebrating the four Celtic festivals ultimately they melded the two sets of festivals into one cycle. Two neopagan groups in Britain adopted an eight-fold festival calendar in the 1950s: the Bricket Wood coven, a Wiccan group led by Gerald Gardner, and the Order of Bards, Ovates and Druids, a neo-Druidic group led by Ross Nichols. ![]() The Witches' Cottage, where the Bricket Wood coven celebrated their sabbats (2006) He said that, despite Christianization, the importance of agricultural and social cycles had preserved "the ancient British festal system", which he believed consisted of eight holidays corresponding to Candlemas (2 February), Lady Day (25 March), May Day (1 May), Midsummer Day (24 June), Lammas (1 August), Michaelmas (29 September), Halloween (31 October), and Christmas (25 December). Robert Graves also promoted the discredited 'witch cult' theory in The White Goddess (1948). Murray reports a 1661 trial record from Forfar, Scotland, where the accused witch (Issobell Smyth) is alleged to attend witches meetings " every quarter" at Candlemas (2 February), Roodmas (3 May), Lammas (1 August), and Hallowmas (1 November). She attempted to identify the festivals celebrated by this supposed 'witches cult'. Murray promoted the witch-cult hypothesis a now-rejected theory that European witch trials were an attempt to suppress a pagan religion that had survived into the early modern era. Another influence was The Witch-Cult in Western Europe (1921) by Margaret Murray. The festival cycle known as the 'Wheel of the Year' was influenced by works such as The Golden Bough by James George Frazer (1890), which explored various European seasonal festivals and their possible pagan roots. ![]() The four Celtic festivals were known to the Gaels as Beltane (1 May), Lughnasadh (1 August), Samhain (1 November) and Imbolc (1 February). In the British Isles, the Anglo-Saxons primarily celebrated the four solstices and equinoxes, while Insular Celtic peoples primarily celebrated the four midpoints between these. The ancient pagan peoples of Europe differed in the festivals they celebrated. Some Wiccans use the term sabbat ( / ˈ s æ b ə t/) to refer to each festival. Modern pagan festivals that rely on the Wheel are based to varying degrees on folk traditions, regardless of actual historical pagan practices. Observing the cycle of the seasons has been important to many people, both ancient and modern. Different paths of modern Paganism may vary regarding the precise timing of each celebration, based on such distinctions as the lunar phase and geographic hemisphere. British neopagans crafted the Wheel of the Year in the mid-20th century, combining the four solar events (" quarter days") marked by many European peoples, with the four seasonal festivals ("cross-quarter days") celebrated by Insular Celtic peoples. The Wheel of the Year is an annual cycle of seasonal festivals, observed by a range of modern pagans, marking the year's chief solar events ( solstices and equinoxes) and the midpoints between them. Some Pagans in the Southern Hemisphere advance these dates six months to coincide with their own seasons. The Wheel of the Year in the Northern Hemisphere.
